Charles Darwin's great, great grandson declares "there is no such thing as racisim".
In a new project that studies DNA to trace your ancestors, Dr Spencer Wells, of the Genographic Project, has traced Charles Darwin's ancestors back to Africa, by using DNA provided by his great, great grandson, Christian Darwin and studying shared genetic markers.
Chris Darwin's reactions to the findings have been clearly positive and stated that the differences between us are so slight that we could say 'we are all the same' and that "it makes racisim a joke...".
Charles Darwin was an acclaimed scientist whose work 'On the Origin of Species' claimed that Mankind has its origins in a common ancestor, possibly the ape, and that we evolved through natural selection. This controversial scientific publication clashed with Victorian age Christian beliefs that Man originated from Adam and Eve, created by God in seven days. Victorian Christians also found it outrageous to be considered as an animal rather than a species apart.
