Los cuatromiles de los Alpes
Helmut Dumler y Willi P. Burkhard
Includes all the four thousand mountains in the Alps, including Matterhorn, Jungfru, Monte Rosa, Weisshorn and Grandes Jorasses. Their history, anectdotes, first expeditions, etc. and the opportunity to reach them with plans and ski itineries together with their best photgraphic portraits.
Since the first expedition to Mont Blanc in 1876, the highest mountains in the Alps are an irrisistable challenge to adventurers. The story of their explorations and ascents, (mainly carried out during the 19th century), are part of one of the greatest epics of Man's search for the unknown. The idea of climbing all the 4,000m mountains was begun by the Austrian climber, Karl Blodig, who was the first to do this.
This book has the most beautiful photographs of each ascent and history behind each mountain.
