Proofreading for Publishers
Proofreaders, like translators, have to guarantee high quality work - always. A good proofreader will spot mistakes that will save the company unnecessary costs and is aware that any changes made in the text may have a knock-on effect further down the production line. Mistakes cost money. Knowing when to leave text as it is or change it, is a responsibility that the proofreader must feel confident doing.
As a proofreader, you need to have an excellent ability to spot errors and the patience to read what is really there. Professional proofreaders have earned recognised qualifications by official bodies.
I am a qualified proofreader by the Publishing Training Centre (UK) and I can work with you on any project you need my services for, whether the material concerned is online or printed matter.
Proofreading for Academics
Your work is important, often ground breaking research and writing publications is a fundamental part of your career. I understand that your time is devoted to classes, exams as well as to your research. However, when it comes to writing articles for publication in relevant journals, you might find that you don't always have as much time as you would ideally like to have to dedicate to revisions.
This is where I come in. I will proofread your work to ensure it is ready for publication. As an academic myself, I understand what style or wording is required at this level, and this service may be particularly useful to you if English is not your mother tongue*.
*Spanish-speakers may consider contacting me in a first instance to translate their work directly into English.
